In the remote Wahgi Valley of Papua New Guinea's Eastern Highlands, where volcanic ridges rise to 1,550 meters and morning mist clings to ancient forests, Sigri Plantation has defined excellence since 1950. This is not a coffee discovered by recent trends—it is one of the world's quietly celebrated estates, known among collectors for its uncompromising standards and the distinctive character only high-altitude volcanic terroir can impart. Highland Elixir represents Sigri's Grade A selection, reserved for beans that pass the plantation's most exacting criteria.

Each cherry is hand-selected at peak ripeness, then subjected to a precise three-day fermentation protocol developed over seven decades of cultivation. The washed beans rest on raised drying beds for twenty-one days, turning regularly under the highland sun, developing the concentrated sweetness and structural depth that distinguish this origin. Our Medium-Dark roast—a Full City Plus development—honors the bean's inherent richness without obscuring its highland character.
The cup reveals layers of bittersweet dark chocolate, underlaid with brown sugar caramelization and the subtle warmth of roasted hazelnuts. The body is substantial and silken, with a finish that lingers long after the cup cools. This expression excels in espresso preparation, where its density and chocolate-forward profile create exceptional crema, and in milk-based preparations where its structure holds presence without bitterness.

Sigri's commitment extends beyond the cup. The plantation maintains extensive shade canopy systems, preserving indigenous forest corridors that protect regional biodiversity. Their community infrastructure—housing, medical facilities, educational programs—represents a multi-generational investment in the families who tend these slopes. This is coffee grown with intention, where environmental stewardship and social responsibility are not marketing language but operational imperatives. We roast Highland Elixir in small batches upon order. Nothing rests in inventory. Each release is dated, ensuring you receive this coffee within days of roasting, when its complexity is fully articulated. Production from Sigri's Grade A lots remains deliberately limited—a reflection of their selection standards rather than our distribution strategy. When this allocation concludes, the next will not arrive until the following harvest.
